Defence News: An Indian Army convoy was attacked by militants, on the Srinagar-jammu national highway in Kulgram district. The convoy was moving from Udhampur to Srinagar when it was fired upon, reported ANI. The militants attacked the convoy near Lower Munda toll post in Anantnag’s Qazigund area of the district, 100 km from Srinagar, injuring six army personnel, an army official said. Pakistan has been violating the ceasefire today in Krishna Ghati sector of Poonch, a defence spokesperson said.
The Injured were evacuated and sent to 92 base hospital. But 2 Jawans did not survive. The Army is hunting for the attackers meanwhile. A woman identified as Shehnaz Akhter, suffered splinter injuries on one of her legs from pakistani firing in Shahpur area of Pooch disctrict. Yesterday, a GREF (general reserve engineering force) employee who got injured in pakistani shelling on Thursday succumbed to his injuries.
pakistan has resorted to heavy firing and mortar shelling on forward posts and civilian areas along LoC in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir, prompting Indian troops to retaliate. Indian army is retaliating strongly and effectively to the pakistani aggression.
pakistan has been violating ceasefire after a calm of two weeks. Firing is done to provide cover and divert attention from infiltration bids by their brainwashed terrorists. Terrorists and pakistan are baffled along with it’s army, on combing operations by Indian army and successfully neutralizing important threat in the last one week.
