Pakistan dares India with obsolete jets in “show of strength”

Defence News: Can you think of a street thug dangling a dagger to a gun wielding Solider? Well that analogy suits best to Pakistan flying it’s junked mirage fighters close to Siachen. No it’s not the capable Mirage 2000 but the Mirage III that has been long retired across the world. The Pakistani Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Sohail Aman visited the forward airbase in Skardu today and flew a Mirage jet according to news reports.

“Upgraded” Mirage III and V fighters in Pakistan Airforce amount to around 165 jets. Although a capable jets of it’s time, the 2nd generation jets (3rd gen after some upgrades, in some sense) is no match for even the retiring Mig-21s of the IAF. It’s quite brave of the Pakistani Aur Staff if he flew close to Siachen in this fighter (a video shoes him checking it out but not flying). Had the PAF tried to touch Indian skies, the jets would be torn apart by deadly air defence present in the area. Indian patience has run low with Pakistan and the Modi govt. has a clear “free hand” policy when it comes to the Indian security establishment.

Leh is home to Su30-MKI and other aircraft of the IAF, A single Sukhoi carries enough weapons to lay a grave of dozens of JF17s or couple of F16s. The laudable action of PAF Chief is understandable considering Pakistan is scratching every pillar in frustration after Indian strikes bombed the crap out of their Army. Since then Pakistan has been showing fake videos and it’s Navy and AF chiefs have issued hollow threats to India in their typical show of false pride.

Pakistan should remember that it cannot match India, even China, its greatest friend cannot realistically hope to beat India at war. India wants peace and our culture and ethos have led to the reputation, economy and a well integrated idea of a nation to move in direction of prosperity and progress. Pakistan borrows it’s culture from India, they have nothing to call of their own. This identity crisis along with hate for India would lead Pakistan into small fragments and it’s existence will be in danger. Pakistan should stop violence, finish off militancy and back off from Kashmir. After all, it’s not able to provide for it’s Punjabi population despite all it’s bias. How can it hope to feed Kashmir even if it had whole of it?
